Pana’ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens

is closed through  April 30th!

In order to comply with our Governor’s “Stay at Home” mandate” and to ensure the safety of our visitors, the Pana’ewa Zoo has been closed.  During this closure, a limited number of essential staff and zoo security, will report to work as usual to maintain the health and wellbeing of our animals and the safety and security of our facility.


Friends of the Pana’ewa Zoo (FOZ) was formed in 1981 and received its nonprofit status in 1986.  FOZ promotes the Pana’ewa  Zoo, assists in providing for special zoo needs, and enhances the lives of the resident animals wherever possible without interfering with the operations of this municipal zoo, which is owned and operated by the County of Hawaii.
