Pana’ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens

closure update.

The construction required  to make the zoo compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act  continues in full swing with lots of excavation to install new sidewalks, cart paths and viewing areas.  Renovations to both the front entrance and main pavilion will include new restrooms and extend both buildings for greater capacity.  If construction continues at the current pace, we anticipate the zoo will remain closed through the end of the year and are hopeful for an early 2021 reopening.

The animals will continue to be cared for by the zoo keepers, and zoo enrichment team members will keep the animals company.
